We have been taking our cars for service and WOF to Neil's Auto in Waiuku for a few years now. So when our little car was due a WOF, we decided that it needed a service as well. We dutifully booked it in and left it at that.
We had to go down to Hamilton to get supplies for the laser and decided to stop off at Columbus Coffee at Mitre 10 for lunch.
"Have you forgotten something?"
Louis phone rang as we started eating. I didn't hear the other side of the call, only "Oh, so sorry, Neil. We completely forgot. Please can we reschedule?"
I rolled my eyes knowing that we had forgotten all about the car service and we were in Hamilton and there was no way we would be back in Waiuku in time for any service or even WOF to be done on the car.
We were both very embarrassed and thought that a great way to say sorry for messing up his day so royally, would be to make a specially designed and laser cut sign for his workshop.
We presented it to him when we next took the car in for service. He was so chuffed he's made a special place for it above the reception desk.
